Spring is coming

I am beginning to notice that it is getting lighter in the mornings, and it won’t be long until we are all shaking off the winter blues completely.
Spring is traditionally a time of renewal
Spring is always seen as a time of new beginnings and naturally so. Us human beings are fundamentally rooted in nature, although it is something we easily forget, especially those of us who live in the city. Nonetheless, we are all affected by the onset of Spring as it comes with a deep sense of relief that Winter is finally coming to an end!
We begin to look to the future
Each year we have this chance at renewal, at seeing ourselves, our lives and the world afresh. We too can ‘renew’ ourselves. We can throw off what we no longer want as we step out into Spring, leaving Winter behind. Many of us do this by Spring Cleaning or repainting our homes. A good friend of mine collected seven black bags of unwanted things just last week! Seven!
Clearing out the Clutter!
Spring really is the very best time to get rid of anything you no longer want. Many coaches urge their clients to go through this process even before they begin any of the things that they came to coaching to achieve. Somehow throwing out all the old physical ‘stuff’ enables us to let go of a lot of psychological ‘stuff’ that has been holding us back.
Newness!
We are then free to move around our physical environment more easily. There is a sense of relief and after having thrown outdated possessions away that is comparable with off-loading emotionally to a friend or confidant. We feel better, lighter, somehow fresher than before. This is a great foundation for starting again, for choosing a new direction, or even just a new attitude. We can choose to feel ‘new’ whenever we want, but it is easier in Springtime.
What will you choose to get rid of this Spring?
What will the new you look, sound and feel like?
Remember, you are not alone!
